What Are You Ordering?

Subaru Emblems

A Subaru emblem consists of 3 individual components that can be customized:

Primary Color

The colored area behind the stars, the main color of the lettermark (STI), or the primary color of the fender badge.

Secondary Color

The Subaru star cluster in the center of the emblem, the mounting base color of the lettermarks, the 'STI/WRX' inlays on fender badges

Trim Ring

The outer border that surrounds the emblem.

You may choose to customize just the background and trim ring, or upgrade to fully custom stars.

Lettermarks

Lettermarks are the individual badges mounted on the front and rear of the vehicle

Examples include:

  • WRX
  • STI

Fender Garnishes

Fender garnishes are the WRX and STI badges mounted on the front fenders behind the front wheels.

These can be refinished in OEM colors or fully customized to match your build.

OEM Badge Sourcing

Don't want to remove your own badges and mail them in?

Pricing varies based part type.

Mail-In Badge Condition Policy

When selecting our Mail-In Service, customers are responsible for ensuring the badges submitted are in suitable condition for refinishing.

All mail-in badges will be inspected upon arrival before work begins. Because we are working with used OEM components, not every badge is a viable candidate for restoration.

Unfortunately, we cannot refinish badges exhibiting:

  • Chrome pitting or corrosion
  • Acrylic crazing (spiderweb cracking beneath the surface)
  • Cracked or broken acrylic lenses
  • Structural damage to the badge assembly
  • Severe delamination or separation of badge components
  • Excessive heat damage, warping, or distortion
  • Previous repairs that compromise the integrity of the badge

Badges that fail inspection may be rejected for refinishing at our discretion.

If your badge is determined to be unsuitable for restoration, we will contact you to discuss available options, which may include OEM replacement badge sourcing (when available) or returning the original badge.

Please note that acceptance of a mail-in order does not guarantee that the submitted badges can be refinished. Final determination is made only after physical inspection of the badges upon arrival.

If you are unsure whether your badges qualify, we encourage you to email clear photos of your badges to dan@thesubieplug.shop prior to placing your order.

Handmade Product Disclaimer

Every emblem we produce is refinished entirely by hand using genuine OEM Subaru components and professional automotive refinishing techniques.

Because each piece is individually disassembled, stripped, repaired, painted, and finished by hand, minor variations may occasionally occur. These can include subtle differences in texture, edge detail, paint coverage, or other small cosmetic characteristics inherent to custom handcrafted work.

High-contrast finishes such as gloss black may make these characteristics more noticeable.

We perform quality inspections throughout the refinishing process and take great pride in our craftsmanship.

If you receive your order and are not completely satisfied, please contact us directly. We are committed to working with customers to find a fair solution whenever possible.
